1) In the tips for reading section (page 3), explain what three strategies you feel are your strongest.
2) What three reading strategies do you feel you should try to improve upon the most between now and the test?
3) Repeat instructions 1) and 2) for the writing tips on page 4.
4) Read page 5. What information do you find to be helpful or interesting?
5) Finally, what questions do you have about the literacy test (the OSSLT) that Mr. Pierce may be able to answer for you?
1) I think the best stratagies for me are: To manage my time to complete all sections of the test, read and reread all questions carefully, and to underline or highlight important information and ideas as you read. I think these are the stratagies I'm strongest at because I use all of them regularly.

2) I think that the three reading stratagies i need to improove are:  look for links between what you're reading and experiences you've had before, keeping my awnsers within the six lines provided, and if a long sentence confuses you reread it carefuly and put it in your own words. I rarely do any of these three things.

3) Developing a main idea with suffecient supporting ideas. Organizing information and ideas in a coherent manner.

4) I find the information on if I don't pass the OSSLT  helpful because after reading it I now know that if I don't pass, I can try it again next year.

5) I don't really have any questions about it.

Animal farm final opinions

I very honestly do not like the book Animal Farm, because it,s not my style of book. A book I would like to read would be a more adventureous book with more action. The book (in my opinion) was only good until chapter 3 because after that (or during that) chapter the animals take control of the farm, I would rather read a book with more logic (or action) than animal farm was able to offer. Just the fact that the animals where talking (though creative) was enough for me to think that this book would be one that I won't like to read. However, the word choice used in the book was amazing and I got to learn some new words so reading the book wasn't entirely useless.

Is Fatal Attractions a good TV show

For those of you who don't know, Fatal Attractions is a show that shows why it's bad to own exotic animals as pets. I find this show bad for many reasons, including: All the show focuses on is all the bad things that could happen when owning exotics as pets. It forgets all about the responsible exotic pet owners. And worst of all is the fact that people have a higher chance to be mauled to death by a dog than a tiger, and they fail to realize this as a true fact.

OK, to start off with, as I stated before Fatal Attractions only looks at the bad stories of exotic pets like people dying and being severely injured. Now lets look at it in a news perspective, if someone was killed by lets say a dog, then the news would be located in the town that it happened in and wouldn't get very far. Now if someone was killed by a pet tiger or bear then that would be on the news for weeks and probably be shown in allot of countries around the world.

Fatal Attractions is completly forgetting about the responsible exotic owners. This leads me to believe that the creators think that every exotic pet owner will get hurt by their pets. The only reason the people on the show get hurt is because of their own fault, or the animal got spooked and attacked because of it.

Finally, the worst thing about fatal attractions is the simple fact that your more likely to be attacked and killed by a domestic pet dog, than an exotic pet. Now I know this as a fact because I got all my information from a site thats with exotic pets, I can't say the name of the site due to copy right claims, nor can i use a link to the site. But from statistics from this site (and my friend) there are about 5 million or more dog bites a year. And 50 thousand cat scratches a year from domestic pets in the U.S. and the number of exotic attack deaths is about 1-200. You know what that means... your more likely to be attacked by your own pet dog or cat that any exotic pet.
copyright disclaimer. I do not own any of the statistics in the previous paragraph, I asked permission from the one who calculated the statistics to use them and have no reference to their site at all, they said I can use them.

Since I think this should be here i'll talk a little bit about the animal rights group PETA. PETA says that they are loving of animals and would do anything for them to be treated properly, bright statement, deep lie, you know why it's like that, ask the responsible dog and cat owners that went through katrina about PETA. Most of them had their pet "put down" by PETA (even the ones that where perfectly fine), a cruel, sick act from the group thats "with" animals. PETA is not an gorup for animals considering that they actually try to steal your animals by acting as other groups that actually do help animals, they will release the pets they steal into the wild where they will die of starvation (due to many generations of captive breeding most domestic pets lose most of their wild instincts and can't hunt for food, leading to starvation). It's a sad truth that even animal rights gorups are freely killing animals every day because they think that "all animals should be free" though most of domestic pets would die without humans to help them.

Are Blogs Helpful in English Class

A blog is better in a class room for quite a few  reasons. By using a blog, you can post your work at home or school. It also cuts down on paper use in a school environment. And since your on a computer/laptop you can pass in your home work and research information at the same time.

As stated before, by using the blog you can post your home work from home, school, or anywhere that has a computer that you can use. It's also easier to organize an e-mail than write it all out and go to school just to find out that your family wanted to know what you where working on and forgot to put the home work back. Teachers should use blogs allot more for many reasons like the fact that it's easier to organize, very hard to lose and more convenient. But for those who don't have a computer or laptop and have no place nearby that will let them use a computer then the blog is not a very good choice.

Using a blog will greatly cut down on the use of paper in a school environment. That being said, it's a great way to point the world in the right direction one school at a time. So it's a great way to make other schools start using blogs to also cut down on paper use.

Using a blog will let students research information and post their homework at the same time. And you can also talk to friends while posting and researching so you don't get board of typing and get to talk to your friends over the Internet. So all in all you can do your home work and say hi to friends and that's good for me because i get boared easily and like to talk to someone while doing home work.

So in summary, a blog lets you post nearly anywhere that has a computer that you can use. Greatly cuts down on paper use in a school and that helps the environment. And lets students talk to friends while posting their home work and researching information for a future project. Now that sounds like a winner to me.

Character Traits short story "Friends are a Pain"

I move around alot, so i don't have very much friends, but the friends i do have are nice, honest, loyal and great to hang with. But sometimes you can make friends with people who you think are nice... but they turn out to be jerks, this has happened to me multiple times over the past years that i've moved, but the most memorable one, is one friend so dishonest and maniplative, that he can be nice and cruel at the same time...
Nah i'm not gonna talk about that jerk. Instead i'm gonna talk about a friend of mine who my family dosen't like because of a series of events that took place from January to June of this year.

So a few weeks after Christmas my friend came over to play a game my family got for christmas, so we all play mario kart wii for about half an hour and my friend really likes the game so I told him "Well if you want I can bring it over and we can play at your house" and he agrees to it and so dose my family. So the next day I bring the game over to his house and he, his family and I all play the game togeather, but eventually it's time for me to go home, so I get my stuff, say goodbye and leave. As soon as I got home I unpacked everything I borught over to his house and realize that I forgot my game there so I tell my mom who tells me to get it tomarrow because it's getting dark, I agreed and went to bed.

The next day I wake up and get ready to go to my friends house to get the game back, but for some reason I wake up really late in the afternoon on the weekend so i have to rush to get ready for the long walk to my friends house. Eventually i get to my friends house to find him and his family looking for something, so me being helpful i ask what they're looking for and if I can help, so they tell me that they're looking for the game i brought over because it wasn't where they had moved it after they noticed that i had left it. And for some reason i asked if anyone had been over earlier in the day before i got there and there was, one of my friends friends that i don't know had come by earlier and showed an interest in the game. So now everyone is thinking that the guy that was there earlier stole it.

So later that day his family and I go to the persons house and look around. the game was nowhere to be found.  So when I got home my family asks how everything went and I tell them what happened, and my sis gets the idea of my friend hid the game so I wouldn't find it, which is dumb because it told her that i checked everywhere in their house and it wasn't there and that my friend was to loyal a person to steal it. But the person whos house i went to was a really cruel and self-centered so i think that he hid the the game in his house but my sis refuses to listen to me. So now my sister hates my friend for something he didn't do.

Small Inspiration

So, a quarter of the way through reading this essay I find myself visualizing what the charecters look like and what they're doing at the moment.

After reading through half of the essay, I'm thinking more about the parents and visualizing their fights with each other.

Now I'm done reading up to 3/4 of the way through the essay and to be honest I can't visualize anything about this part of the esay.

OK, now I'm done reading the essay and i have to be honest, the last sentence in it made me chuckle. I don't know why, but I didn't really visualize anything in the last half of the essay.
